How can you relate to the meanings of activism you have found?

Activism is quite simply taking action to effect social change; this can occur in a myriad of ways and in a variety of forms. Often it is concerned with ‘how to change the world’ through social, political, economic or environmental change. This can be led by individuals but is often done collectively through social movements. -  http://www.permanentculturenow.com/what-is-activism/
I can relate to this quote I have added from the stated website above. I can relate to wanting to 'change the world' environmentally, I think it is so important to take care of the world we live in, I can do this in my own practice just like other people can do it in their own practices and home life.

Do you like the terminology of activism?

I do not like the definition of activism from the Oxford English Dictionary as it states that activism is about 'vigorous campaigning' which could mean 'forceful' which is not true at all. Activism doesn't have to be vigorous at all. If I was to do an activism project through my own practice (printed textiles), It would be peaceful and aesthetically pleasing not forceful at all.

I feel like activism has a bad stigma about it, maybe the terminology is off putting to people and they could possibly get the wrong idea. If I was to create a project focusing on activism I would create more of a communal/social challenge to try involve as many people to be as environmentally friendly at home, at work, uni, college etc!
