A reflection on 2015

2015 was a year of personal growth - not physically (I'm only 5ft) but mentally and educationally. It was a hectic fun filled year with some bad days - but I grew a better person because of them. I spent my 19th birthday in Amsterdam with close friends and my boyfriend (which are no longer my close friends neither is my boyfriend around anymore) I had such a fantastic time although my one regret was not planning what to do before we got there as we did not see much. Amsterdam is such a beautiful city and I plan to go back in the near future. I also went to Spain, Palma nova to be precise. This was a holiday I will not forget, sat next door to Palma nova is magaluf, a real eye opener. It was so fun and we got to see Skepta (a grime artist) in an underground club, it's fair to say the day after I had the worst hangover of my life but such an amazing night. 2015 was a big year for university for myself, after my 1st year of uni in rotations experiencing every aspect of all the specialisms (knit, weave, embroidery, print, commercial design, contemporary practitioner and designer/maker) I took the plunge and decided which I would like to specialise in for the next 3 years at university. I chose print and commercial design, I chose these as I have the most experience and passion for them both, and not to blow my own trumpet but they are the specialisms I actually am really good at. Last year was the year I moved into my first proper house, with two of my closest friends. Although the house is sat at the top of a hill which is not what I look forward to part taking in after a long day in the print studio, it has toned me up a lot which is a big bonus. I could go into mega loads of detail and tell you all the ups and downs of last year but the mind set I have got right now is to look into the future not to dwell on the past. I had an amazing year and experienced some ever lasting memory's which I will never forever, with amazing people that will always have a place in my heart weather they are still in my life or not. Thanks 2015 you have been great - but 2016 is going to be the year of many changes for me and I'm totally excited about it!
