Print room - Day 3

Here you can see the process of how i created this sample using batik, brusho paints and screen printing. On the first picture you can see me using batik to create my background, i drew hot air balloons with the Tjanting tool, aswell as balloons. I then used brusho ink to colour in the balloons using red and yellow, and then using a blue for the background. I then waited for that to dry and ironed of the wax, i then layered the green on top of the blue and it has gave it a texture to the flat page. On the bottom picture you can see that i used my screen to print over the background i just created. Although i used pale colours so it looks like my print is in the background. I did not repeat my print as the colours were too light and i couldnt line it up properly to repeat it. I decided to layer my prints up, printing them over the top of each other.

This sample shows 2 single parts of my pattern, i  did this by using paper to block the rest off. I wanted the final product to be simple and effective. I used pink and blue puff binder for this. As you can see, the blue looks better than the pink.
This sample is one of my strongest samples i have produced. To create it i used a pink brusho with a bit of blue in it to create a background, i then used batik and another layer of a darker pink to create texture in my work. I then used violet blue ZBTL to print my pattern onto the paper, i did this in repeat.

As the day went on my samples proved to be getting better and i started experimenting more with colour and techniques. In this sample, i used batik and pink brusho for my background, i then mixed orange and pink puff binder for my print on top of my background. The colours go together really nicely and suit my theme. I am really pleased with how this sample came out.
This is the last sample i created today in the print room, i used red and blue brushos for the background, and red mx5 and violet blue ZBTL for my screen print, i also then added puff binder to one side of my work to give it more texture and a more interesting apperance.
