Technical Processes - Knitting

As I have started a new project, it means I get to learn new techniques to fill my technical folder up.
The first technique I learnt was knitting. Before this lesson I had never knitted before in my life.

This is the items I started out with, a pair of 7.0mm knitting needles and lots of coral pink wool.

The first thing I was taught to do is to cast on, the minimum stitches to create this sample was 20, I decided to do 30. This is what it looked like when I had cast on my stitches. ( I took this photo after only doing 20 stitches but I added 10 more after)

The next thing to do was to start knitting, after a while I got into the flow of things and started enjoying my self, I found it very therapeutic.
This is a picture of my final sample. I had some more time to do another quick sample, this time I used 100mm needles and only did 20 stitches. This is a picture of both my samples.

I am happy with the samples I produced and enjoyed learning how to knit, I even bought myself some knitting needles! It is defiantly a skill that will stay with me for life.

The needles I used are made from bamboo which is natural.
