In order to chose which sample will be recreated for my final piece, as a class we had a design meeting. We was put into groups of 4 by our tutor and we had to present our work, from our sketchbook right up to our sheets and samples, telling our group our ideas and concepts, colour scheme and where our wallpaper would be used. As i am not very confident presenting or talking to a large amount of people, just being in a small group helped with my confidence very much. As i was the first person in my group to present my work i got a little nervous as i did not really know what to say or how to present my work professionally but after i did it i felt much more confident and it really was not as bad as i expected. While i was presenting each sample, the other three people in my group wrote positive and negative comments which would help them decide a final answer of which sample i would be using to recreate my final piece.
These are the sheets from my design meeting, they are good feed back for me to take into consideration.
This is the sample which was chosen in my design meeting for me to recreate for my final piece which is a meter of wallpaper. I am happy with the choice as the print is pretty simple to recreate although i am concerned it does not show my strengths as the print is simple and does not have a background. If i manage my time and come into college on my day off i might be able to also recreate sample 5 or sample 8 aswell as this chosen one. I feel this might help me overall as i created a poor amount of samples. This way i can show my strengths through my other sample and show that i can listen to what people want by recreating this sample for my final piece.
