Colour Theme
As stated by the live brief that Moo Designs gave me the colour scheme had to be monochrome - as it is fore-cased to trend in spring/summer 2014 - and one contrasting colour. Using my mood boards and visual sheets as inspiration for colour, I also created a current trends sheet for spring/summer 2014 to help me decide a contrasting colour. After doing this research I narrowed it down to two colours. ORANGE AND PINK! To help me decide which colour i wanted to take further into my development I photocopied my visual sheet in black and white and coloured just the shells in, pink on the first one and orange on the second one, I did this with gouache paint, mixed with a little bit of a white acrylic as I did not want it to be too bright.
As pinks are on trend this spring/summer I decided the pink would look better if I was to use the colour and pattern on a garment which would be worn. Personally I liked the orange best, but I have to think about what would be best for Moo Designs and to wear in spring/summer 2014.
I will be posting about my Development sheets and how I did my original tracing in the next blog post.
Thanks for reading...
