Visual Sheets - Final Major Project

So you pretty much know the design cycle now, After mood boards come visual sheets. I really enjoyed doing these visual sheets as the pictures I chose to put on my moodboards were full of patterns, I never knew science would have some many pattern inspirations and amazing colours!

Mood board which inspired these visual sheets.

Above you can see in the first picture the mood board which gave me inspiration for the patterns and colours in my visual sheets. The pictures above are the final outcome of my finished first visual sheet. This took me a very long time to paint, I used gouache for it all aswell as black berol fine liner as the pattern was far too precise and small to use paint and I wanted the quality to be the best of my ability. A problem which I found with this visual sheet was what colours to put where, As I wanted the colours to compliment each other but I also wanted to include many colours. To solve this problem I used warm orange, coral and yellow colours in the middle of the background to give the sheet some life and I am really happy with this sheet. You can definitely see the development from my mood board, I have tried to keep it very busy so I can develop it in many ways and experiment with different outcomes during my sampling, As my visual sheets are not just inspiration for my tracing for my screen printing, But also for other techniques such as batik, free machining, felting and so on.

These pictures above are the finished result of my second visual sheet, I used the same mood board to get inspiration but I tried to incorporate different pattern's, I also used a different more recent moodboard which I currently don't have a picture of, Basically it includes space themed pictures such as galaxies and planets and that is why I added planets to this visual sheet. I am very happy also with this sheet as the background really make's it come to life, although it took me a long time I didn't have to think about time management as I did this in the Easter holidays. I love the colours in this and I can also develop this sheet a lot.

In conclusion I am really happy with these sheets and think they are really good quality and I am confident to put them up in my exhibition. Next in the design cycle is development sheet's where I am to develop these visual sheets further, My plan is to break these visual sheets down and experiment with colour and pattern, for example I will do quite a few development sheet's, using scale and colour scheme's to develop parts of my visual sheet's.

Thankyou for reading.
