I started by choosing my colour wool, keeping in mind my colour scheme of pinks, creams, oranges and other flower colours.
The first sample I created was just all one colour, I started off by laying out my wool, ripping small portions off at a time and building up the shape I want, building up two layers of wool so the fibres will stick together during the felting process to create a strong outcome.
The next sample I created was using a coral pink background and layering up thin pieces of wool to make a colourful foreground which I can then sew in to.
This was the final out come for my second sample.
The third and final sample I did was a bit different, as my theme is flowers and dragon flys, I decided to base this next sample on dragonflies, I tried to recreate the pattern of a dragonfly wing under a microscope (or just close up).
This is all my samples together on the drying rack after I soaked them in boiling water and then in cool water to make sure they are clean.
In conclusion I really enjoyed wet felting and will most defiantly be using this technique again.
