Final Major Project - Some More Artist Research

Today I have completed yet another artist research sheet on Clint Fulkerson! Maybe from reading my blog and knowing what my topic is for my final major project, You might be thinking... Why Clint Fulkerson? Well if you don't know who Clint fulkerson is then you should check out his work at http://www.clintfulkerson.com .

Above are a few images of Clint Fulkerson's work. Maybe from these picture's you probably get a better idea of why I decided to do some artist research on this artist. Each piece of his work reminds me off cells or bacteria, It's like looking down a microscope. This work has influenced me to take this work and adapt it to my project and recreate my own version of something like this, maybe using different techniques such as needle felting or wet felting. I also think it would look good by sewing into a delicate fabric maybe incorporating more colour to make it look much more like a cell.

Here you can see I tried to use quite a few different colours and techniques. Firstly using a black pen and a ruler to extend the image on the bottom and then using the same pen creating the circle shapes in the middle of the sheet. I also added the sequin left over's for a bit of a tactile touch and added some colourful lines to add my own touch to the artist sheet. My favourite part of this sheet is the big circle in the middle of the sheet, I did this using a technique called ink and stick where I used the end of a paint brush (handle side) and dipped it in the ink and drew with it.

On the picture above you can see I added a paragraph of what Clint Fulkerson's work is all about.

Above are a few close up pictures of my artist research sheet, In conclusion I am happy with this sheet but most of all I am happy with the discovery of this artist as he has influenced me a lot to develop my work more. To improve this sheet I feel I could have added a paragraph explaining why I decided to research into Clint Fulkerson and which of his work I like the best, although I did want to keep this sheet simple.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my artist research.

Thankyou for reading.
