Transmitting Andy Warhol Tate Liverpool

Yesterday, Sunday 11th January 2015, I went to visit the Tate Liverpool to see 'Transmitting Andy Warhol' to try and get my creative juices flowing before I go back to uni next week. No photograph was aloud I was so upset as it would perfectly fit in and inspire all my modules at uni. Nevertheless I got really inspired which surprised me as I am not the biggest fan off 'pop art' however to see the work of an amazing artist that changed the world of art forever was really over whelming. 

One piece of art 'The Beatles' really inspired me, The lines which were quite out of proportion made me have a flood of ideas of how I could use the idea in my work, Such as embroidery. Or even just experimenting with my visual research and drawing.

I really like this piece of art. The display caption really caught my eye. The black and white panel really got me thinking and the fading of the screen print shows the unfortunate death of the famous icon.

If you have the time I would really recommend this exhibition its really amazing.

Light Trace Picture's - A Blur

Using photography is my favourite way of gathering inspiration for projects or to inspire a piece of knit, print or embroidery. I carry my camera everywhere and well today I found the perfect spot to take some photo's of cars on the motorway. Using the light trace setting when the camera was capturing the image I moved the camera around in different motions to get different results. 

Project Inspiration

Hey everyone, Getting stuck into my first independent project at uni was not hard at all. In fact if anything I had missed it. It's been some while since I was looking for inspiration for a project, producing mood boards and sketchbooks. I would not even call it 'homework' anymore, It's something I truly love and hopefully one day will be my career. I thought I would share with you the begin of my project, My inspiration. 

Yorkshire Sculpture Park

This long week has been my induction week at university. It sounds so so strange saying 'University' as it seems like 2 seconds ago when I was at primary school. Nevertheless I am a university student now! This week has been filled with lot's of boring inductions for health and safety and what not, So when I was told I was going to yorkshire sculpture park I was really happy to be finally getting some practical work done.

After the 30 min coach ride, We got of the coach and was free to explore the park our self's doing sketches in our sketchbooks as we go, However the long walks, awkward sitting positions and the wind really did not agree with me and I did not get as much done in my sketchbook as I wanted to. 

The park is really beautiful and such a nice walk (if you like that kind of thing) So here are a few pictures from the galleries and the sculptures we found on our way around.

I hope you like the picture's I have taken, I really enjoyed my day out at the sculpture park. In the next blog post I will show you my sketches inspired by the sculptures and thing's I saw at the sculpture park.
